| Roger Pampel is a
versatile and enduring performer whose professional career spans five
decades. While continuing to honor the traditional, with his rendering of
time-tested jazz and classical piano styling, Roger is keenly aware of each
and every audience's preferences. As such,
you will find him singing contemporary hits and standards in virtually every
musical genre, again with his own personal style. All of this is deftly
accomplished as he augments each song with combinations of guitar, bass,
synthesizer, and trumpet woven into the songs' accompaniment.
From rock-and-roll bands of the '60s to show bands
of the '70s and early '80s, Roger continues to work in varied formats with
music at its center. Primarily a solo performer capable of providing a full
spectrum of musical entertainment, there are occasions when a larger group
is required.
Through his many contacts, Roger can be counted on
to create bands ranging from two to six additional musicians: guitarists,
drummers, male or female vocalists, and other horn accompaniment. And with
computers and large-format, sound-reinforcement equipment available at every
function, he can even operate as a DJ!
Musical style and experience define Roger's
approach to entertainment. He is a full-time, certified high school music
teacher, instructing an eclectic blend of music-theory classes, music
business and technology, and group instruction of acoustic guitar.
With an undergraduate degree in choral music
education and a master's degree in piano performance, Roger has accompanied
and taught all manner of vocal ensemble in public schools and churches.
Roger has also been a church organist every Sunday for 40 years, virtually
without a Sunday's interruption.
Roger owns his own audio-recording studio, using
the latest digital audio technology. In addition, he maintains a small video
operation.
